NightRiders & Jace debut music video for “One Day At A Time” Remix ft. Grey Granite:

In support of the new album Passports & Paparazzi, NightRiders linked up with direct Jeremy “Jace” Wallace to visualize their single “One Day At A Time” Remix ft. Grey Granite.  The single has been circulating blogs since late November and has been featured on Faronheit, Tighten UP!, and Bringing Down The Band; the album has been featured on NoisePorn, White Label Nation, and Mostly Junk Food.  Jace is most recently known for the video he directed of alpha.live’s “Light Up” video.  With a talent for allowing Indianapolis to be a character of it’s own, Jace beautifully features the Fountain Square district of the city as the NightRiders put their daily grind on display.

For the track in the video, the NightRiders collaborated with Grey Granite on a remix of their track “One Day At A Time”.  “One Day At A Time” is dedicated to getting by and the hustle of life.  Jam P. leads out on the beat he created with his trademark rasp on the first verse and hook.  On the second verse, Grey uses his 16 to attack all of his doubters with a poignant tongue lashing.  The track closes with a slick rhyme from Bob G. Barker warning the world not to sleep on the NightRiders.  In a year consumed with posse cuts, Heavy Gun comes through with a cohesive collaboration from three of the label’s top emcees.

Bob G. Barker and Jam P. Astro formed the NightRiders in 2008 shortly after meeting in Indianapolis.  Bob G. Barker was already a veteran of emcee of the group Knox Haven, so when he met Jam P., a producer and rapper, it was like planets colliding.  Bob G. Barker is a master of the classic leisurely flow, and Jam P. Astro has the perfectly complimenting quick tongue.  The pair seamlessly transition between the club and the street.

The One Place Record Sales Still Thrive: Prison!

Bob Paris, owner of Pack Central, claims that the internet has not affected his music retail sales because he targets a literally captive market that will forever lack internet access … prison inmates.  Pack Central allows prisoners to purchase music via their commissary accounts.  What is even more intriguing about Paris’s claims is that the majority of sales are for tape cassettes.  This is explained by the fact that most prisons have a ban on CDs.

Guess what, Weezy’s Tha Carter III is even number one behind bars!

Nas Wants to Drop an ALL Dre Album and an ALL Premier Album on the Same Day

I meant to post this shit yesterday before the 2dopeboyz, flocked on it, but I was slippin.  I think both of these projects would be massive, but I also think it would be massively stupid to drop both on the same day.  If I could see these 2 projects and the Game’s proposed D.O.C. project come to fruition by 2010, I would be a happy little gangsta.

So Nas announced an idea that’s brewing inside his domepiece about his future projects. Seems like he wants to record an entire LP with DJ Premier and an entire LP with Dr. Dre. Each would be crazy in their own right. On top of that, he wants to drop them on the same day. Hmm… if only one project could formulate, which would you prefer? That is the question I ask my dopeboyz and dopegirlz…

Snoop Dogg Remixes Johnny Cash?!

The OG of country music Johnny Cash is being remixed by the King of the West Coast Snoop Dogg for an upcoming remix album. I know that Snoop popped off with a country track on his last album, but I would have never expected this. This is something truly monumental. I wonder if Rick Rubin will have anything to do with the album. Could anyone imagine Johnny Cash over a Dej Jam era Rick Rubin beat? Holy fuck that sounds like a masterpiece!
