I really hope Asher gets a solid run with Def Jam.
Ash Roth continues his Def Jam backed push to remind us why we thought he was such a dope rapper. It’s working.
I suppose like Asher’s become a hipster like every other college kid after they graduate. On his latest mixtape, Asher links up with Blended Babies to create a solid project that pulls from old school hip-hop, jazz, and funk. A lot of the project has that golden era hip-hop sound. Personal favorites are “Useless” “Bastermating” and “Charlie Chaplin”.

Title single off of Asher’s upcoming Pabst & Jazz project.
After “Asleep in the Bread Aisle” kinda under performed, I was worried that Asher’s career would be short-lived. However, the emcee has continued to churn out interesting projects like Seared Foie Gras and The Rawth EP. Now Asher is prepping the release of his new project Pabst & Jazz with the new single “Common Knowledge”.
Why do I always find myself struggling to keep up with my blog? Anyway, I really meant to post this last weekend, but I fucked up and didn’t. So when I went to put together my top 10 rap songs from April, the selection became ifinitely more difficult because I had to disclude gems from Em and Cam’s albums that leaked this week. As I went back and looked at this top 10, I felt like April was a fairly slow month. I can’t wait to bring you the May Top 10, because there will be some ill jams on that list.
Tracklist below the cut.
After taking the past week off from blogging, I missed out on posting all of the dope Asher leaks that have come thru across the net. Instead of bothering with posting them all separately, I am going to just drop all of them in one post. For anyone that has doubted Ash as an Eminem ripoff, peep all the tunes and even try to step with that bull shit again! Asleep in the Bread Aisle goes on sale 4:20! Go COP THAT SHIT!

I have no clue why I chose that pic for this shit, but I thought it was jokes. Motherfucking orange drink! Thats hood! Anyway, I was having a terrible time coming up with this list initially, but then I went back and looked at my downloads from the past month and quickly came up with this list. This month’s number one tune is Ash Roth’s Lark on My Go Kart. His album is going to be huge! Make sure you get it on 4:20!
BTW, the second round of MHC’s Special Rap Olympic begins next week, so make sure you get the rest of your first round votes in by Saturday.
Full countdown below the cut …
Staying true to his cracker roots, Asher Roth drops what I assume is the second single “Lark on My Go-Kart” from his upcoming album. This track is pure vocal viciousness on the part of Ash. For anyone that was hating on the boy for his “I Love College” track, this tune will hopefully change your mind. Seriously, Ash is probably the best lyricist in the whole hip-hop 2.0 cast. Dude can flip words like no one else.

I’m telling you that Mr. Roth is hands down one of the best lyricists that has graced a mic in a long time which he proves once again by going off the top for 20 minutes. The dopest part about this bit of audio is his refusal to ride Eminem beats. Seriously, the DJ was a fucking jackass after Ash had to ask for a fifth time not to feed him another Em beat. Whatever, give it a listen and lemme know what you think. I would love to see Asher and Charles Hamilton go toe to toe despite my belief that Ash would murder Sonic in seconds.

Spotted this shit over @ 2dopeboyz and just about freaked because I was just thinking that I needed to hit J. Brookinz up about playing my birthday show next month. This is a great remix of a dope up and coming artist by another great up and comer.
Do you remember the Bro Rape video? Well Asher Roth is a pretty much a bro that can rap, but Asher Paul Roth is pretty nice on the mic. I’m pretty much kicking myself in the ass for being so far behind on listening to this kid even though he’s been all over the blogs recently. Check his mixtape w/ Dj Drama called “the Green House Effect Vol 1.”
