WestBay Music Group is celebrating their 5th year of operation with a compilation of their standout tunes and a few new remixes. Congrats to Nate, Manni, and the rest of the crew!

Cruel Rumor – Disco Trip EP x So True (Single) ft. Dre

Was just checking the good ole Facebook, and I was blessed with a message from Nate (Atlantic Connection) linking me to two new release by his collab project w/ MC Julz the Huntress called Cruel Rumor.  My first taste of Cruel Rumor was a feature track on AC’s album Tomorrow Isn’t Enough.  I’ve been a fan ever since.  Mr. Hayes is a genius in the studio and has consistently proven it since his departure from Basic Ops, and I’d compare Julz to a West Coast Lady Sovereign.  She has a serious ability to spit witty bars, but she also displays a talent for melodies.  Fav tune out of the two releases is probably Skate Shop on the Disco Trip EP.

Atlantic Connection – Franchise & Disco! [Mixtape]

Nathan Hayes aka Atlantic Connection just posted his most recent mixtape Franchise & Disco!, and I’m feelin’ it.  If you checked his remix LP, then you already know that AC has been off in electro house land for a minute.  This mix is confirmation of that.  Lots of funky 4×4 beats with crunchy electro basslines.  It’s a little chill for a packed dancefloor, but I think it would be great for listening to on the way home from the club when you are still tipsy and winding down a bit.

Atlantic Connection – Music 4 Travelers EP

Being the generous fellow that he is, Atlantic Connection decided to give away a chill little 4 track EP that fits in somewhere between nujazz, liquid funk, and downtempo … seriously, I am not really sure how to classify it.  If you dig his production and the rest of the WestBay sound, then you are definitely going to love this.
